Ryan Berni is a partner at Berni Consulting, an award-winning strategic communications and public affairs firm, whose clients include leading corporations and philanthropic, political and advocacy organizations.

Ryan most recently served as a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor for Infrastructure Implementation in the Biden Administration. As a deputy on the White House infrastructure team, he played a key role overseeing the delivery of the historic $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  The law invests in key sectors including transportation, aviation, ports, rail and transit, water, high-speed internet, grid resilience and clean energy. Berni came to the White House after having served in several roles in government, most notably as Deputy Mayor for the City of New Orleans, helping bring in new federal resources for the city’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina as well as overseeing policy development, communications, intergovernmental affairs, and neighborhood engagement for Mayor Mitch Landrieu. 

In the private sector, Berni built Berni Consulting to become one of the nation’s leading boutique firms offering strategic communication, public affairs and political consulting services. Berni also previously served as Chief of Staff for famed political strategist James Carville, where he directed Carville’s media, research, writing, and new business development operations. In that role, he also served as an analyst and consultant to international political clients in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.  

Berni has also served as campaign manager and lead strategist for several municipal and statewide campaigns.  In 2022, the American Association of Political Consultants named Berni to its 40 Under 40 Awards program recognizing the best and brightest young professionals working in the United States.

Berni has worked with elected officials, political thinkers and not-for-profit leaders to craft opinion pieces for the New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, The Financial Times, and other top publications. He also collaborated on multiple New York Times bestselling books.

A native of Destrehan, Louisiana, Ryan holds a B.A. from Louisiana State University. He is the proud husband of Caitlin and father of two kids, Benjamin and Julia.
