Leslie Leavoy joined Berni Consulting in February 2021 as the Director, Strategic Communications & Public Relations and now serves as Vice President where she provides strategic communications, public relations, and advocacy expertise to the firm’s clients. Most recently, Leslie served as the Louisiana State Director for Democrats for Education Reform, where she managed communication, policy and political work for the statewide organization.
Leslie is a native of DeRidder, LA, and a graduate of LSU where she earned a degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Political Communication. Leslie earned a Master’s Degree in American Government from Georgetown University and previously served as Deputy Press Secretary to Former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu and as Communications Assistant at Pew Research Center.
Leslie currently serves as the Board of Governance Chair for JCFA Charter Schools, a network of nontraditional high schools in Jefferson, Orleans, and Lafayette parishes. Leslie and her husband live in Gentilly with their Goldendoodle, Penny, and enjoy hiking, cooking, and New Orleans’ festivals.
